Im Jahre 1121 wurde Rodowe als Ausstattung des Klosters Bosau genannt, M\u00f6nche errichteten in Gro\u00dfr\u00f6da einen Klosterhof zu dem Zweck, dass hier der Zahnt aus dem Altenburger Land gesammelt werden sollte.\u00a0 Das Kloster Bosau wurde 1573 aufgel\u00f6st, so kam das Klostergut an die Stiftsverwaltung Zeitz. Etwa im 15. Jahrhundert schrieb man R\u00f6da. Dieser Name blieb bis 1703, als der Rittergutsbesitzer einen weiteren kleinen Ort s\u00fcdwestlich von R\u00f6da errichtete. Um die zwei Orte zu unterscheiden, sagt man nun Klein- bzw. Gro\u00dfr\u00f6da.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thickbox\" title=\"800px-~1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.starkenberg.info\/_WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/800px-1.jpg\" rel=\"same-post-1889\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1891\" title=\"800px-~1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.starkenberg.info\/_WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/800px-1-100x74.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"74\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.starkenberg.info\/_WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/800px-1-100x74.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.starkenberg.info\/_WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/800px-1-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.starkenberg.info\/_WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/800px-1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px\" \/><\/a>Aus dem nahen, 1898 abgeteufelten Schacht Eugen, werden um 1910 \u00fcber drei Millionen Hektoliter Rohbraunkohle gef\u00f6rdert. Zur gleichen Zeit beginnen die Erschlie\u00dfungsarbeiten f\u00fcr den Tagebau Eugen. 1927 wird der Schacht stillgelegt, aber noch einmal nach 1945 bis 1959 betrieben.
